Oral Surgery

In a state-of-the-art environment and with specialist’s training, tooth removal can be carried out in a precise, planned way. By choosing MODUS, you will remove the long waits for NHS treatment, as well as guaranteeing that your treatment is carried out by a consultant surgeon. This reduces post-operative complications and discomfort.

What Is Oral Surgery?

Oral surgery encompasses all aspects of surgery of the teeth, bones of the jaw and the soft tissues of the mouth. In practice the term relates to the removal of hopeless, un-saveable teeth or impacted wisdom teeth. Patients are most likely to be referred for difficult extractions or surgical procedures that are beyond the comfort zone of a general dental practitioner.

If we follow a code of rigorous oral hygiene and a diet low in refined sugars we should avoid the need for tooth extraction but there are times when surgical intervention is unavoidable. At times like these it is reassuring to know that a consultant oral surgeon is taking charge of your care.

Your First visit

You can rest assured that your comfort and peace of mind is of utmost importance to us. We will check your medical history, ask you to explain the history of your problem and thoroughly examine the part of your mouth in question. Any additional information (such as X-rays or a CT scan) will be taken to properly assess you. Often, it will be possible to perform the surgery at your first visit if you wish. Alternatively, after the assessment is complete, you will be able to book an appointment for the proposed treatment.
